I immigrated to Canada in the early 1980s with my parents and sister. I grew up in northern Alberta until just after high school, moved to Vancouver B.C. for university, and spent a decade on the coast. I lived a short period in San Francisco, but after a year and a half, I moved to Alaska where I spent seven years between Fairbanks and Anchorage. I now live in northern B.C., the traditional and continuously used lands of the Wetʼsuwetʼen Nation.

I’ve published poetry in a variety of literary journals including Inlandia, About Place Journal, Prairie Fire, december magazine, Rock & Sling, The Louisville Review, The Hopper, Gingerbread House Literary Magazine, among others; fiction in The Hopper, subTerrain and Broken Pencil; nonfiction in The Whitefish Review, untethered magazine, Grain, Pilgrimage, and High Country News.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia (UBC).
